Courtney VanLonkhuyzen Welton is Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counselfor Allstate Insurance Company. Her team supports the company’s emerging and service businesses, including Arity (a technology spinoff) and cybersecurity, privacy and data management across the company. She spent 8 years at Motorola, most recently serving as Global General Counsel leading legal matters across Lenovo’s Mobile Business Group (which included Motorola) in North America, Asia Pacific, Latin America, China and EMEA. Previously, she led commercial legal teams for Motorola, Google and Lenovo focused on relationships with key suppliers and channel partners. Courtney was also instrumental in relaunching Lenovo’s philanthropic Foundation, including overseeing the company’s charitable work, engaging employees as volunteers, and fostering relationships with strategic nonprofits. Prior to joining the company, Courtney clerked for the Honorable David W. McKeague on the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, litigated global disputes at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom and led a forprofit large health care facility. She also recently served on the board of directors for a successful software company and the Chicago Foundation for Women. Courtney received her B.A. from Hope College, and her J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law, where she served on the executive board of the NU Law Review. Courtney is based in Chicago and has been named to Crain’s Chicago Business 40 Under 40 and Top Tech 50 lists and Illinois Diversity Council’s Top 15 Illinois Women in Business.
