Melissa Reardon Henry is the Vice President for Legal Affairs and General Counsel for Northeastern Illinois University. Northeastern is the most diverse public comprehensive university in the Midwest and is designated by the U.S. Department of Education as a Hispanic-Serving institution.  Ms. Reardon Henry serves the University, its administrators, and its Board of Trustees. She is a sole practitioner providing day to day legal advice and representation pertaining to labor and employment, compliance, risk management, contract review, dispute resolution, and real estate matters. Previously, Ms. Reardon Henry was the Director of Employee Relations for Purdue University, senior labor attorney for the City Colleges of Chicago, and an employment attorney for the Chicago Public Schools. Before beginning her “matriculation” through public education, Ms. Reardon Henry represented public employers in employment discrimination and traditional labor matters from the federal government, to Cook County, and the City of Chicago. She obtained her J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis and holds a B.A. in Romance Language and Literature from the University of Chicago. Melissa is a passionate citizen of the city, a gardener, and a life-long Cubs fan.
